You can start these in pots 30 days before your last frost in the spring. Sow on the surface of your potting material and very lightly dust with vermiculite or fine sand as they need some light to germinate. Keep moist until germination.  Once your plants are 3" tall you can transplant into your garden after your last frost in spring, generally in groups of five spaced 6" apart.  This grouping will eventually form the bush like shrub.

You can also direct sow these in spring after your last frost in spring.  Sow between 5-10 seeds in a 3 foot area by sowing them on the surface of your garden bed and lightly dusting with screened peat.
